Senior QA Engineer
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who loves working in a dynamic environment and building high-quality projects. You are centred between creative and technical and work closely with both our design team and developers to analyse and test digital products, manually and automated, before they hit the World Wide Web.
You take pride in delivering quality products and use a range of testing techniques to ensure we deliver the highest quality and are comfortable and confident in your QA abilities. To do so, you know the best type of testing to utilise, and when. From E2E, regression, and chaos testing, you’re a jack of all trades and can adjust your method at the drop of a hat. You have familiarity with Accessibility standards and testing, especially to a WCAG AA 2.1 level. You gather feedback from clients and/or product owners and can confidently translate these into tangible bugs for developers. Writing and documenting clearly is in your nature. Where necessary you adjust your language to suit the multi-disciplinary nature of your team or the client, explaining technical subjects to those who may not be as proficient as you.
As a Senior QA Engineer at Lab Digital, you have a key role in all of the projects we create for our clients. This role is centred between creative and technical and you will work closely with both our design team and developers to analyse and test digital products before they hit the World Wide Web. Besides manual testing you are also technically proficient in test automation to build and maintain comprehensive automation coverage.
This means that you are responsible for, among other things:
Taking co-responsibility for the delivery of projects within time, budget, and other frameworks. You identify technical challenges in a timely manner and escalate when necessary.
When you report issues or bugs, it’s your responsibility that others can reproduce them and have everything needed to solve it.
Analysing designs and UX ahead of development to get a head start on test planning.
Determining the priority of test results and, if necessary, coordinating with the product owner on the client side.
Drafting (go-live) test plans and working closely together with the multidisciplinary team to make sure it’s not just a plan but used effectively and widely supported within the team.
Enriching project documentation in the area of QA.
Plan, organize and drive continuous increase of test automation coverage.
Tak ownership of your own schedule and communicate with developers and project managers as often as necessary.
Supporting teammates in their work and providing feedback in a well-structured manner.
Helping to define and improve our internal standards.
You have a strong background in delivering high-quality, reliable digital software solutions using modern software development techniques and working as part of a fully integrated and multi-disciplinary team. We would also expect you to be able to demonstrate:
5+ years of experience in a similar role and (project-based) environment
Knowledge of multiple ways of testing and when to use what
Good knowledge of modern software development techniques (unit/integration testing, ci/cd pipelines, etc)
Analytical thinking and strong reasoning skills
Communicatively strong in word and writing
Desire to grow and develop in test automation domain
Nice to have:
Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with automated testing
