As a DevOps Cloud Engineer, you hold responsibility for the DevOps/SDLC environments of your team(s) and customers, ensuring the availability and reliability of production setups. You collaborate closely with teams from project inception, designing and implementing tailored DevOps solutions. Your role extends to supporting development teams, setting up Continuous Integration & Delivery pipelines, and contributing positively to Lab Digital's engineering culture.

Your mission is to deliver elegant solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and secure, ensuring they are 'production worthy & robust'. You play a pivotal role in driving the engineering culture forward within Lab Digital, guiding and coaching development teams in the correct application of DevOps principles.
What kind of characteristics are needed for the role?
You are sociable and possess strong communication skills, with a proven ability to coach and guide development teams effectively. Drawing from your experience as a Software Engineer or System Administrator, you make decisions confidently and adeptly navigate various communication styles to align teams and clients. Your proactive nature, coupled with your independence, enables you to drive change and implement improvements seamlessly within the organization.
You take charge of the DevOps/SDLC environments, ensuring the reliability and availability of production setups for both internal teams and external clients. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll design and implement DevOps solutions tailored to project needs, leveraging your expertise to expand our existing knowledge base. Your role extends beyond technical implementation, as you'll also play a vital role in fostering a positive engineering culture within Lab Digital, coaching and guiding development teams in the application of DevOps principles. With a focus on scalability, maintainability, and security, you'll automate processes, set up Continuous Integration & Delivery pipelines, and deliver technical documentation to streamline operations and drive efficiency.
Extensive experience developing and managing modern environments (Azure/GCP) for software organisations, with a strong emphasis on site reliability engineering.
Proficiency in cloud-native environments setup and management using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Demonstrated expertise in setting up and managing Continuous Integration & Delivery pipelines for diverse software products, including implementation of monitoring/observability solutions and delivery of comprehensive technical documentation.
Background as a Software Engineer or System Administrator, providing a solid foundation for understanding software development processes and requirements as well as building and maintaining reliable, secure and efficient cloud infrastructure with code.
Advanced skills in automating various processes within the DevOps discipline, utilizing scripting languages such as Python/Bash.
Strong teamwork and communication abilities, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience working with Docker containers and container orchestration platforms like kubernetes.
Familiarity with security best practices and experience implementing security measures within DevOps environments.
