As a Digital Solution Architect at Lab Digital, you are a trusted advisor to our clients. You will build long-term relationships, working with them to translate their business strategy into a sound technology approach. You will be involved in new initiatives by clients who come to us for guidance in the area of technology. The role is therefore also commercial!
For this role, we are looking for a broadly based person. You will often find yourself in a situation where everyone will look to you for technical direction. It's not unusual for you to explain this in 'business language', helping our clients to make the right decision.
Making elegant use of new technology, knowing what is possible and what is not, is your motivation. Nothing is more fun than offering a customer a solution that fits exactly and that our development team can execute well.
Customers turn to us with complex technology problems and much of that is done by making complex simple. Bringing complex technical material to a non-technical audience in the right (and simple) way is a profession in itself and you will master it to the last detail.
Because you know how to bring the client along in the right way, you can also generate new work: you know in no time what is 'really necessary' to answer the client's question.
Besides designing the architecture, you also know how to develop software in a safe way. Ideally, you have a background as a (back-end) software engineer and master one or more modern programming languages (python, c#, go, javascript). You probably don't program on a daily basis (you can), but it's mainly about understanding the concepts. For example, we don't need to explain to you what object-oriented programming is or how you can prevent SQL injection.
You are also familiar with the software development method Scrum and know its pitfalls. Especially in the agency context. Often, customers still want to know what the costs will be, how long it will take and what exactly they will get. Finding the right balance between defining the scope and being flexible (not everything can be clear beforehand) is one of the most important parts of our approach. And you play an important role in this.
