Azure Cloud Engineer

As Cloud engineer, you will be responsible for DevOps/SDLC environments across the company and for multiple customers, including production environments with associated availability. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop software and cloud environments for our customers. We have a lot of AWS knowledge in our DevOps team and are therefore looking for someone strong in Azure.

Responsibilities

Your mission is to deliver elegant solutions that are scalable, maintainable, secure, and therefore 'production worthy & robust'. You are responsible for the Azure DevOps/SDLC environments of your team(s) and customers, including production environments with associated availability. At the start of a project, you design DevOps solutions, work them out together with the development team and realise them with the customer. You will also make a positive contribution to the engineering culture within Lab Digital.

About the team
Our DevOps team consists of three colleagues, each also part of his/her own multi-disciplinary teams. In our team, we already have a lot of AWS knowledge, so we are now looking for someone who brings at least Azure experience, to expand.

About you

You are sociable and strong in communication and have experience in coaching and guiding development teams in the correct application of DevOps principles. Thanks to your experience, you know how to make decisions with confidence and, by using different communication styles, you know how to bring the team and the customer along with you. You feel comfortable working in a team and collaborating closely. You work independently and are proactive. When you see changes or improvements, you know how to argue why and implement them.

Requirements

5+ years of experience developing and managing modern Azure environments for software organisations, and the discipline of site reliability engineering
Knowledge and experience with cloud native environments and their setup and management using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), within Azure
Experience in setting up and managing Continuous Integration & Delivery pipelines for various types of software products, including setting up the necessary monitoring/observability solutions and delivering technical documentation.
Highly experienced in automating various processes within this discipline (using Python / Bash etc)
Good teamwork and communication skills
Knowledge and experience of working with Docker
